Welcome to the Roedean School Magazine Online Archive

The Roedean School Magazine includes news, games reports, features, prose and verse dating from 1890 to the present day. It is a valuable resource, providing fascinating information about pupils, staff and school life.

The magazine has changed both in title and content; originally known as Wimbledon House School News, the first issue contained only 4 pages with reports on school clubs, games, cookery and acquiring new premises in Sussex Square.

Later, the magazines included a News of Friends section in which former pupils and staff wrote back to Roedean with tales of overseas travel, education, family life and their careers.

Today the magazine is an annual review of the activity at school and among the girls, with regular features on curriculum development, enrichment projects and an Old Roedeanian section.

Access to the Roedean Magazine Online Archive is free to Old Roedeanians and their descendents. Researchers may be charged a small fee. Please contact the Roedean Archivist to request a login.

The Roedean School Magazine Online Archive is provided and funded by Roedean School in conjunction with the Archive and supported by a generous donation from the Old Roedeanians’ Association
